Two Serious Assaults

This is a reminder to be alert following 2 serious assaults on women walking on their own on the Herts/London border in Northwood and Ruislip in the middle of September. This wasn’t reported initially through OWL as it fell under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Police Service.

The first incident happened in The Gravel Pits, off Rickmansworth Road in Northwood, and the second  in Duck Pond Park, Ruislip. In both cases the suspect threatened the women with a knife although one wasn’t actually seen. The suspect is described as a light-skinned black or Asian man, between 20 and 30 years old, around 5ft 8in talk, of slim build and a bald or closely-shaven head. He was wearing a dark-coloured tracksuit at the time of both incidents. Anyone with information should call the Metropolitan Police on 101 or Tweet @MetCC and quote CAD 4511/12Sep. Alternatively, call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Sergeant Dan Amos, who leads the Oxhey Safer Neighbourhood Team (covering part of Northwood), said: “These incidents are understandably going to cause concern in the local community but I want to reassure the public that we have not received any reports of this nature in Hertfordshire”
